Sdr-IQ with Hardkernel ODROID U3 as network server

image

Going small form factor,  the sdr-widget / ghpsdr3-alex group has made getting your sdr online and shareable,  a reality.

I need to configure wifi for the odroid yet,  but once done I can move the server elsewhere in the house away from RFI. This is no small task in my nerd-driven household,  but this will definitely make dxing easier.

Capture: SDR-Widget via ODroid U3 and RTLSDR Dongle

Lovely, boring, NOAA weather radio from an RTLSDR dongle with working waterfall output on an Odroid U3 out to my laptop.

Now if we can get the waterfall from the Odroid working with SDR-IQ…

Next Test in a few days: Cubietruck, and later, RADXA.

Running Ubuntu 12.04 on an Asus AMD 3.7 ghz micro atx box/slim case, 8 gb memory with an addon NVidia 1gb graphics card.

Currently Playing Nice (so far):

  • Steam for Linux (TF2 mandated buying the nvidia card but it was 40 bucks well spent and Ubuntu had stable drivers for it upon reboot) graphics via HDMI to my Samsung 32 inch tv.
  • Ghpsdr3-alex / Qtradio
  • CuteSdr compiled from source. Both ghpsdr3 and Cutesdr let me access the server from other pc’s remotely and so far seem stable.
